INTRO
We came across a unique property in Lorong 108 Changi — a large, ageing bungalow that stood quietly among the changing skyline.
The owner had been holding onto it for many years. It was more than just land — it was home, rich in memories and meaning. But as time passed, the space became too big for their current needs. While others might have looked to sell, the owner wasn’t interested in letting go. They were exploring how to better utilise the land, to preserve what it meant to them while unlocking its full value. That’s where we came in.
The Partnership: From Shared Vision to Shared Success
Through several conversations, we learned that the owner wanted to create something meaningful — not just a build for profit, but something that honoured the land’s legacy. The challenge? They didn’t have the expertise or desire to deal with architects, contractors, and the complex redevelopment process.
We proposed a land partnership model: redevelop the existing site into four modern terrace houses, where the owner would retain one unit — keeping their address and preserving their story — while the remaining three could be sold. It was a win-win.
We took care of everything — from design and build to project management. We even helped the owner temporarily relocate during construction, ensuring their comfort every step of the way.
It all began with a ceremonial ground-breaking, marking not just the start of construction, but the beginning of a meaningful collaboration.
The Outcome: A Home Reimagined, A Legacy Preserved
Thanks to our proactive communication with neighbors, we completed the development on schedule. This project underscored the critical role of communication in construction, extending beyond neighbors to encompass all stakeholders.
Ensuring everyone is aligned is key for smooth project progression.
Moving forward, we’ll emphasize specificity in design briefs, ensuring full consensus before finalizing designs. Early clarity mitigates the risk of costly, time-consuming changes later on, leading to more successful project outcomes.
